“I am from  Louisiana. I make paintings and sculptures. My work is figurative, in other words, it looks like something. I prefer a tune over free form music.”

Stephen is best known for his bronze statues located on Bourbon Street at New Orleans Musical Legends Park. In the park there are life-sized portrait of Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint, Louis Prima, Irma Thomas, Chris Owens and Ronnie Kole.

Steve began sculpting professionally by creating life-sized anatomical structures of White-tailed Deer & Exotic animals for the Taxidermy industry. About that experience he says, “Although, I did not like it at the time it was a meaningful experience to learn from real animal references. I would sculpt 8 hours a day then go to my studio and sculpt even more. Gibson believes ” To become an artist it is necessary to sculpt or paint day in and day out for a good while to be sure you were made for that”.
